Torre d'Alta Mar is an elegant and refined Mediterranean eatery based in the tower overlooking the port of Barcelona

 

The Torre d'Alta Mar is a unique Barcelona restaurant serving top end Mediterranean cuisine. Based in one of the towers that serves the cable car linking the port to the Montjuïc mountain, the Torre d'Alta Mar is 75 metres above sea level. Not for the faint hearted, diners are taken up to the restaurant in a swish high tech glass elevator. The 360° views of Barcelona are simply unbeatable and the food is pretty outstanding as well. The menu is mostly Mediterranean with strong Catalan influences running through. The menu includes starters such as sautéed scallops with Thai asparagus, artichokes, Iberian ham topped with parmesan shavings and a hot vinaigrette and mains like cod risotto with asparagus, tender garlic and parmesan or fillet of kid stuffed with foie served with truffle potatoes and mushrooms. Only the best ingredients available are used in the dishes. The wine list is excellent with a large variety of Spanish and French wines on offer as well as the best cavas and champagnes. The restaurant attracts many famous faces; Ronaldhino, Shakira and Jodie Foster are among many celebs that have been spotted here. Torre d'Alta Mar is is a refined and sophisticated establishment far from the ordinary and the prices reflect this. A real gastronomical experience for lovers of the finer things in life.

An excellent location. Grand views of the harbour. Food was excellent and the service was attentive. All in all money well spent for a special occasion.

This is the second time I have dined at Torre d'Alta Mar and once again it was fantastic. The service, food and ambience were just as good the second time around. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
