Sukaldari is a huge restaurant specialising in cuisine from the Basque region of Spain and is located right in the heart of Barcelona in the beautiful Ramblas. Just around the corner from the La Boqueria market, this popular Basque eatery has a light, modern feel to it with pale, modern wood covering the walls and ceilings as well as huge old stone walls.. The tables are all dressed with red check linens and the look is simple and understated. There are 3 floors, each overlooking the other, creating a huge open plan space. There is also a small terrace in which diners can take in the atmosphere of the nearby market. The food here is principally Basque style, and there is plenty to choose from: aperitifs, starters, salads, rice, meat, fish & seafood. The bar is a great place to stop by for a montadito (large piece of fresh bread with a hot or cold topping of your choice) and a read of the free local or national press left along the bar. There is something to suit everyone’s tastes at Sukaldari which makes it a great place to stop for a bite to eat whilst out and about in the Ramblas of Barcelona.

Sukaldari is one of those unassuming gems! Amazing Basque food, enormous portions and very refreshing atmosphere to the busy tapas houses on Las Ramblas.
