Perched right along the sea front opposite the pretty fishing harbour in the Port of Alcudia in Mallorca is the Miramar de Alcudia Restaurant, quite a legend as far as fish & seafood restaurants are concerned. It was founded in 1871 and served as a small tavern for the local fishermen as well a hotel. In the 1980’s it became the Miramar de Alcudia Restaurant, specialising in the freshest of fish and seafood and has become quite a landmark in this part of Mallorca. Set out over two floors the restaurant boasts tow dining room decked out in typical marine style and two terraces, both enjoying magnificent sea and port views. The sight of the sea and the view of the fishermen’s boats really do get you in the mood for some deliciously fresh fish. The fish baked in salt is highly recommended. As for the seafood, it is imported over from Galicia on the mainland and is just divine. Try the seafood platter which includes crab, lobster, scampi, prawns and oysters. A select wine cellar provides a good choice of Mallorcan wines as well as some great national varieties.
