For a taste of the sea in the city centre, Alboran is the perfect place to dine

Located in the popular Madrid district of Camberi, the Alboran Restaurant has a great menu of typical Mediterranean style dishes combining strong influences from Valencia and Andalucia. The restaurant is very accessible with valet parking for up to 30 cars in its own private garage, a rare find in Madrid. The interior has a nautical theme with wooden panels and partitions and is cozy and pleasant. There is a small bar in the entrance where delicious tapas such as small red mullets, deep fried shark or baby squid can be enjoyed. The restaurant menu is broken down into sections, one being “southern fried” where all types of small fish a fried in a tasty batter. Other sections are “rice” including various paellas and lobster with rice, “fish” with specialties such as salt crusted turbot or sole, and “meat” which includes various steaks. It must be said that this isn’t a place for meat lovers but the fish is truly fantastic. Alboran is a restaurant for those who love the more traditional and simple type of fare, where the freshness of the produce is paramount.

The paella was delicious and so fresh I almost forgot I was in the middle of Madrid. A fantastic restaurant for fish.
